How to discover the wonders of Brilliant Brighton…
Brighton is the current place to go for a city break! Relax and breathe in the culture by day and then feel the thrill of this psychedelic seaside city by night. Here are some tips for how to spend a day in this delightful, captivating place.
Start your day right at ‘The New Club’, a contemporary seafront eatery that provides the best breakfasts in Brighton, whether it’s a hangover cure that you’re looking for or a hearty relaxing breakfast to get you ready for your day ahead. I personally recommend the Pancakes with blueberries, greek yoghurt, pumpkin seed and hazelnut crumb, they are scrumptious. New York food delivered to Brighton seafront!
Once you feel like you’ve eaten enough it’s time to explore the the wonders of Brighton. Make sure you’ve put on a warm scarf to prevent that seaside breeze from creating a chill because you cannot go to Brighton without visiting the infamous Brighton Pier. This fun-filled Pier offers something from everyone; charming views of Brighton, thrills from the Pier attractions and traditional seaside cuisine. You can even see the Isle of Wight on a clear day if you climb to the top of the helter skelter!
After a walk along the pier and seafront I would recommend taking a trip to Brighton’s historic alleyways, ‘The Lanes’. A short walk from the seafront, these maze-like cobble streets reveal a wealth of history amongst quaint, traditional shops. This is definitely a place for the women who appreciate elegant jewellery and boutique clothing. However, the friendly ambience from The Lanes public houses are sure to keep the men content. For more independent shops and cobbled streets full of culture visit North Laine and Cultural Quarter.
If shopping is not for you, I recommend that you visit the quirky Brighton Museum & Art Gallery. This is based at the Royal Pavillion Gardens in the centre of Brighton’s cultural quarter. There are several impressive collections here that compliment the city’s psychedelic atmosphere. This exciting museum is also free to visitors, an added bonus.
Once you have taken in Brighton’s culture by day, it’s time to enjoy it by night! Begin your night at one of Brighton’s contemporary restaurants. A favourite with many is 64 Degrees, a vibrant restaurant in the heart of Brighton. Here, all food is made with precision and dishes can be in any order as and when you like. Although a bit on the pricey side, the food is imaginative and exquisite, certainly a place not to be missed!
After some culinary delights it’s time to sample Brighton’s nightlife. Whether you’re looking for a trip to the theatre, a few glasses of wine in a trendy bar, a venue housing live music or an electric night club there is something for everyone! If you, like me, enjoy a few cocktails Maloolah Bar is a must. A chic venue in the centre of Brighton, with over 40 different cocktails to choose from, they are sure to house your favourite!
Once you have experienced Brighton’s nightlife you can go back to your cosy contemporary apartment safe in the knowledge that no hotel doors will be heard banging and that you will get a dreamy nights sleep.
Hopefully you enjoy all the wondrous things that Brighton has to offer.
