Last Sunday Sussex University played host to the annual Varsity sporting games between themselves and rivals Brighton University. As a relatively small city Brighton is lucky to have two great Universities under its belt and Varsity was a great way for both Universities to showcase their sporting talents! With competitions ranging from Dance to Rugby, American Football to Swimming the competing sports battled it out in a bid to win the title of ‘Best University’. I was lucky enough to be able to play in the Sussex University's Women’s Rugby team at this event and we encountered a relatively tough game on the pitch despite coming out on top! The atmosphere of the day was boosted by the great number of supporters that went to watch all of the events and ended with a big celebration in Brighton’s biggest nightclub ‘Pryzm’. Overall the scores were very close, with Sussex University just pinching the title by winning 11 out of the 20 matches played!
