The Brighton and Hove Food and Drink festival is a year round celebration which runs at Easter, in May, August, and December. Coming up on 26 – 31 August is this year’s summer installment of the festival and it is well worth heading into Brighton to sample some great food and drink. Committed to spreading the love of good and locally sourced good food and drink, the event organisers ensure that all of the major outdoor events are free for the public – which is great news for us! The free events that are coming up are as follows:
Head down to Hove Lawns on the 29th of August for the Live Food Show – where you can see top chefs from Brighton and surrounding Sussex take to the stage to show off their expert culinary skills. At the same location from the 28 – 31 of August you can visit the Sussex Drinks Tent – where you can sample some of the best craft beers, wines, and spirits from the UK. You can also wander through the Sussex & the World Market where you can sample and buy produce from 85 local producers and restaurants – which will make your taste buds and tummies happy! Over the same weekend there is also a Children’s Food Festival where your little ones can have fun with some interactive food activities.
Amongst the events which aren’t free for the public is the Sussex Wine Tour – a behind-the-scenes tour of two of the best Vineyards in Sussex, a Sussex Food and Wine Matching Evening, and a Sussex Gourmet Tour.
If you are a bit of a food and drink expert, or would just like to taste something new and exciting, head down to this festival that continues to wow visitors year after year.
