Last week I had dinner at the Curry Leaf Cafe on Ship Street in Brighton and … WOW! Serving South Indian street food and craft beer this is one restaurant to visit when you’re next in Brighton. (Be sure to book to avoid disappointment as the restaurant can get very busy - as was shown last week with the full tables!)
The decor is great, it’s orange and green walls make you feel like you are sitting outside in a colourful garden. The ambience was calming with the mumble of voices and quiet music adding to the enjoyment of the evening. The staff were happy, helpful and polite which always makes a big difference when eating out.
The food was delicious! I would highly recommend the Hyderabadi Lamb Boti Kebab for a starter - succulent meat and a gorgeous apricot and ginger chutney - and the Hyderabadi Dum Ka Gosht for main course. The lamb curry contained the perfect amount of spice for me (not too hot) and the naan was soft and fluffy! The waiter asked if I wanted to see the dessert menu but I was too full from my main - so I would definitely recommend turning up hungry!
With plenty of choice on their lunch and dinner menus and with food ranging in price to accommodate all budgets this really is a restaurant for all. Visit their website to view the menus and to book a table!
