Ascending to the calming sound of Aled Jones’ Walking In The Air, Best of Brighton took to the skies for our Christmas do at the British Airways i360. We were welcomed in through the gift shop - where you can find a host of Brighton themed goodies - before being ushered through the airport style ‘security check’. After being given some very interesting statistics about the viewing tower by our great tour guide (the i360 is the tallest moving observation tower in the world - rising to a height of 162 metres!) we were escorted into the pod itself…

Lit up in blue at night the pod is extremely spacious and boasts a bar in the centre where you can buy the delicious, and locally sourced, Nyetimber sparkling wine. (It is safe to say that we thoroughly enjoyed our glass of bubbly!) The whole flight takes 25 minutes and in that time we got a fantastic view of the city sparkling at night. Walking around the pod we could see the lights of Shoreham and Worthing in the west out to Ovingdean in the east and everything in between! We could certainly point out many of the city’s landmarks including the Brighton Pier and Royal Pavilion Palace.

It was great to get the opportunity to view our wonderful city from a new perspective and we will definitely be going back for a daytime flight. Thank you to the BA i360 team for organising our visit and getting our Christmas party off the ground!

If you are struggling for ideas of things to do when you visit Brighton then make sure you check out this great attraction on Brighton seafront.
