Tucked away in a fabulous position in the centre of historic Rye, Needles Cottage offers charming yet spacious accommodation for 4 people. Its location is quiet and secluded and the cottage is accessed down an old passageway but with great access to the town and the railway station.  The cottage has lots of character both inside and out and has a spacious ground floor living area with a ground floor bathroom, an en-suite shower room and a fully equipped modern kitchen.  The pretty courtyard garden is part-walled which comprises part of the Old Town Wall with the oldest part of the cottage being built in the 19th century.

Out and About:

Rye is full of character with lots of exploring to be done.  There is a train station in Rye so no need to bring the car if you're coming for a short break.  Start your adventure on the cobbled Mermaid Street and work your way up to the very beautiful Church Square.  There are many restaurants, wine bars, gastro pubs and individual shops and a Kino cinema.  A little further afield you will find the small town of Winchelsea and Winchelsea Beach.  Further along, at Pett Level, there is a submerged petrified forest which is exposed at low tide.  There are glorious walks to be had at Camber Sands and along the Military Canal and beautiful gardens to visit at Great Dixter and Sissinghurst. There are castles at Camber and Bodiam and there is a nature reserve at Rye Harbour for bird watchers and nature lovers.

A charming period cottage, well situated in the heart of Rye and with very comfortable amenities.

Mr Timothy W,

Especially in Winter Rye is a good destination because it is alive but not so many tourists as in the summer.

Mr Heinz K,

Really excellent location and very quiet considering where it is. Lovely cottage and welcome goodies were much appreciated.

Mrs Joanne D,

Charming and well-furnished/equipped period cottage in excellent quiet location right in the middle of Rye Old Town. Excellent pub (the Standard) close by, with good food and local beers. We found a week's parking was best in the station car park (£17, with a weekly ticket).

Mr Matthew M,
