Theatre Royal

We are the proud sponsors of the Theatre Royal!

For the second year running we are proud to say that we are official sponsors of the Theatre Royal and are very excited about its upcoming performances! Make sure you check out the properties below which are all perfectly located to base yourselves for a trip to the theatre and a weekend break in Brighton.

Opening in 1807, the Theatre Royal in central Brighton has a rich history and is one of the country’s oldest working theatres. Despite a rocky and financially uncertain beginning, its fortunes were turned around by Henry John Nye Chart and subsequently his wife Ellen Elizabeth Nye Chart, both of whom managed the Theatre and secured it is a nationally respected institution.

The grade II listed regency building is home to a stage which has hosted some of Britain’s finest actors and performers over the years, and it even a enjoyed a visit from Queen Elizabeth II in 2007 to celebrate its 200th birthday. The Theatre’s programme includes stage shows, many of which arrive on the back of a successful run in the West End, as well as ballet, music, comedy, opera and children’s shows.

Some performances to keep an eye out for over the coming months include the comedy How the Other Half Lives, which arrives in Brighton in November 2017 following a successful West End revival, Bill Kenwright’s A Judgement in Stone, on over the final week of the same month, and Cabaret starring Will Young and Louise Redknapp which arrives in December 2017. Of course there will also be many shows on display in 2018, such as the thriller Strangers on a Train in January, and Of Mice and Men in March. Make sure you watch this space as plenty of other shows and performances will be announced in the near future!
