Doves Barn has been converted into a luxury property for two, offering a spacious interior and has been beautifully decorated throughout.  This beautiful pet-friendly property is set in the grounds of the owners house in the small village of Broad Oak with its own drive and private parking.  The open plan living area is modern and stylish with local artwork on the walls, a large comfy sofa in front of the wood burning stove and a spiral staircase to first floor bedroom. The kitchen is very well equipped for preparing food, if you're not tempted to eat out at any one of the many pubs and restaurants in the area. There is plenty of walking in the High Brede Woods and beyond the village is the market town of Rye with its famous cobbled streets, antique shops, pubs and restaurants.  Local vineyards also make for a great day out.  The Sussex coastline is particularly stunning with seven miles of golden sand at Camber and fantastic dunes to explore.  Other places to visit close by are Battle, with its ruined Abbey and battlefields, Hastings and the famous house and gardens at Great Dixter in Northiam.

Stayed here for eight days. There was fresh bread, eggs, milk, local apple juice and cakes on our arrival, placed there by the owners (who are very nice). The property is spotlessly clean: we had no concerns re Covid in this respect. The equipment such as fridge/freezer, oven, washing machine etc are all in excellent condition, as are the utensils. The bed is very comfortable and we both slept very well here. The local pub is just a short walk away; food is good we ate there 3 times. The Three Legged Brewery is also an easy walk and a must for the beer-lover. The location is very handy for visiting (by car) several National Trust properties and a short drive (6 miles) to Rye. I would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended.

Mr E,

We arrived at the cottage to a lovely welcome from the owners, Sarah and Graham. They introduced themselves and were available if we needed extra information etc but closed the gate separating their house from the barn and our area was totally private. Doves Barn was extremely well equipped to a high standard and always very comfortable and cosy to return at the end of each day. It is an excellent base and easily accessible to the coast, a wide range of National Trust and English Heritage properties, particularly Battle Abbey and historic towns such as Rye. One of the best cottages we have stayed in.

Previous Customer,

Really lovely barn, in beautiful garden setting. Really nicely kitted out. Very clean, and lovely friendly welcome, including tea, cake and biscuits for the dog! Useful recommendations in the property welcome pack. Sarah was really friendly. And we've already suggested it to family.

Ms F,

Very warm and welcoming hosts, excellently maintained property. Lots to do locally all in all we had a great week and would definitely recommend Doves Barn.
