One mile from Ashdown Forest in the High Weald, The Stables is set within 80 acres of the English countryside. Originally a Victorian farm The Stables is right next to a Sussex barn which provides good shelter and a secluded space.The garden looks out across the wildflower meadows towards a private woods and all of this is accessible to visitors. Many original features including stable doors, beams have been retained but still giving twenty first century comforts. The owners are committed to promoting local sustainable tourism and the property is a Green Tourism Gold Award holder and accredited as Walkers and Cyclist welcome. Solar panels have been installed and logs provided are from the Home Farm woods. Visitors are provided with information about the High Weald, and local places to visit, eat and shop. There are home-made food boxes and other services that can be ordered prior to arrival. The Stables, despite being in a rural location has a regular bus service passing the door if you don't have a car. At the Stables you can enjoy walking from your doorstep through the woods to the local pub or onto Ashdown Forest, looking out for deer, badgers birds and wildflowers on your way; you can enjoy attractive local villages, pubs and regional food and wine.
