A stunning converted Oast House a few miles from Mayfield with beautiful views over the lovely Sussex countryside. It has been lovingly restored, keeping the original bricks and beams, but providing modern day comforts too. The Medieval town of Mayfield has shops and pub and nearby are Bodiam Castle, Bateman's, Sheffield Park, to name a few. To keep children entertained Drusillas, Bentley Wildfowl & Motor Museum, Herstmonceux Castle are not far + Go Ape at Bedgebury Forest. A spacious, high standard accommodation. Bathroom - the bath has a centrally fixed shower attachment and there is a separate walk in shower, heated towel rail, washbasin and w.c. A delightful porthole such as you might find in a luxury liner has been converted into a mirror with shelves behind and there are glorious views through the windows
Heating: Underfloor heating supplemented by radiators and woodburning stove.
Also Provided: Telephone for emergencies. Logs. There is an AGA in the kitchen available at an additional charge of £40 per week payable to the owner on arrival.
Garden: To the rear is a large, lawned, fenced garden surrounded by gorgeous countryside. There is a paved courtyard area with al fresco seating, gas barbecue and a quiet loggia providing shady cover. There is a rotary washing line out of view.
Parking: Parking is to the side of the property.
Important please note: Please be aware that as the Oast is on a working sheep farm and there are unfenced ponds near the property, in the grounds of the homeowner's house, so children should be surpervised. If you would like to entertain any additional guests during your stay - please enquire when booking or with the owner who lives next door.
For the second time! We also loved our stay again. The oast is very comfortable and East Sussex is so beautiful. Hope we will stay here again on our next visit.
A very relaxing week in a well equipped and comfortable house i a lovely surrounding. We enjoyed the farm and the local places of interest. Sissinghurst, Batemans, Battle and Eastbourne.
Fabulous Oast House, so well equipped and comfortable. We have had a wonderful week here exploring the farm, local footpaths and the National Trust houses and gardens including Scotney Castle is worth a visit and Drusillas and blackberry farm for the children. Thank you so much
