Once the shooting lodge for the Ashburnham Estate. Shooting Box Tower is now a fabulous holiday home. The views from the top of the tower are fantastic, looking out over fields and woodland (fabulous for bluebells and anemones in the spring) towards Hastings. Ideal for country walks and visiting the many historic, interesting places that East Sussex has to offer. Battle Abbey and 1066 country are on the doorstep. A visit to the seaside is not too far away either.

The Shooting Box Tower was perfect.
James and Roy lent us their toaster when the one in the cottage developed a fault and bought a replacement for the cottage the same day. Excellent customer service from the owners!
an excellent property and very kind and generous hosts. We will come again.
Exceptional property, exceptional hosts.
Absolutely beautiful property. The owner could not have been more helpful and accommodating. We had a perfect stay.
We had a fantastic time at the Shooting Box Tower, everything about the cottage (well house really) exceeded our expectations. The lounge in itself was wonderful and we all miss those super comfortable sofas. The kitchen was well equipped and we cooked each evening a fantastic meal, everything from roast dinner to curry. The garden was lovely, plenty of seating and I may have just ordered a swing seat like at the property for my own garden. The location is wonderful, secluded on a quiet road but close to Battle, in fact we never ventured further than about 30 minutes drive to all the attractions we saw, such as Sissinghurst, Battle Abbey, Bodiam Castle, Bexhill, Hastings, Rye. I had no idea that you can have such a wonderful holiday down south, so we hope to return as there is simply so much to explore.
